The Return : Story of Kunti is the English translation of second volume of Mahasamar : Adhikar, first published in 1990 and went on to earn the status of a classic. This volume begins with infancy and early childhood of Pandavs with their mother Kunti in Hastinapur and ends with Agnikand in Varnavrat.
 
Through the character that emerges as an emblem of perseverance, dedication and grit-Kunti, the book underlines the definition of ownership rights, their loss and struggles faced by Pandavs to reinstate them. The Return is dedicated to Pandavs' quest to get what is rightfully theirs, of Kunti's to return to her home with her children and of Karn who would eventually have nowhere to return to.
